Anne Miller
Assistant Administrator
Anne's job involves hiring and training Glenmeadow's staff. So when she was a job applicant at Glenmeadow herself, she paid attention what was happening while she waited for her interview. She saw the executive director, sleeves rolled up, helping a nursing assistant making a resident comfortable. "I thought, this is just the kind of boss I want to work for--one that's hands-on and visible."
Since starting in 2001 as human resources director, Anne's moved up to become assistant administrator, a sort of "jack of all trades." Her background also includes years as a case manager for people with developmental disabilities, and a lot of supervisory experience. "I feel strongly that teaching people to be good supervisors is paramount in providing a good working environment. Supervisors need to be clear, consistent, compassionate, mature, and approachable. And the way you treat your staff will be reflected in the way they treat residents."
Anne has two children and says she "lives to work on my house." When not redecorating it, she enjoys art projects, reading, exercise, and "watching bad reality TV with my husband."
