The Corrigan Women's Heart Health Program is a vital new resource at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Heart Center: a program devoted to meeting the unique heart health needs of women.  The Women's Heart Health Program evolved in response to a group of MGH cardiologists' pressing concern about a devastating epidemic.  One in three women is afflicted with heart disease - and this silent, secretive killer is the leading cause of death in women.  Most existing disease treatment protocols are geared toward male patients, resulting in a significant gap in appropriate cardiovascular diagnosis and treatment for women

The renowned MGH Heart Center is singularly prepared to address the issue of women's cardiovascular health.  It is a comprehensive, cutting-edge center, offering patients access to the most advanced clinical and research initiatives in all of cardiovascular medicine.  The Corrigan Women's Heart Health Program is housed within the MGH Heart Center and, using the broad range of services available in the Heart Center, offers a program entirely designed for women at risk for, and diagnosed with, cardiovascular disease.
