Everett Brown
Director of Plant Operations
Everett has always enjoyed working with his hands. In high school, he trained to be a chef, and worked as a baker and in the building trades before coming to Glenmeadow in 1999. Starting in maintenance, he worked his way up to a supervisory position.
Currently, he oversees the five staffers who keep Glenmeadow's physical plant in top shape. He looks for staff "with the right personality-people who are polite, personable, and friendly to people they pass in the hallway."
"I really like the variety of things I encounter each day," Everett says, "and the fact that each day is different."
One day was particularly different...a resident who was taking a cake-decorating class was making a cake for her granddaughter's birthday, but ran out of time before the job was finished. Everett heard she was upset and volunteered his pastry experience to finish the job. He recalls, "When I realized how important it had been to her, it was very gratifying to be able to help."
He is married, has four children, and lives in Westfield.
