Torrie Dearborn
Marketing Manager
Torrie is a "people person" who came to Glenmeadow in 2007 after thirteen years as a funeral director. She says, "I saw through that work that the elderly could be a forgotten part of our society," and so was attracted to the Glenmeadow mission of serving seniors well.
Today, Torrie uses her training in business management to get the word out about what Glenmeadow offers. She believes in what she's marketing, since, she says, "I feel the staff genuinely cares for our residents and clients in the community. Day after day, I hear of things our staff have done over and beyond their job expectations to make life better for an elder in our community." For instance, staff driving to another town, after hours, to retrieve a phone left by a resident, or when the executive director drove residents to a grocery store because they'd missed the van they usually rode to the store.
She's been married for seven years to a firefighter, and they have a young son. Torrie enjoys reading, doing counted cross-stitch, skiing, and spending time with her family.
"I feel a sense of accomplishment when [someone] tells me they are relieved that their family member has either moved into Glenmeadow or is receiving care from our Glenmeadow at Home aides," Torrie says. "I know that the worry, guilt, and hopelessness have been dissolved and that the family feels their loved one is being taken care of properly."
